How do I connect my MacBook Pro (2019) to my router with a hard wired connection

Hi.

I have 2 x Thunderbolt 3 connections on this Mac but I cannot find any Apply adaptors which link this to ethernet. I bought a Thunderbolt (2) in error..

I upload alot of videos for my work and so I need a hard connection as wireless is too slow.

Any ideas please?

Thanks

I gather that the USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter is what you need. The USB-C end fits the Thunderbolt port and the other end accommodates an ethernet cable.

The product information overview says "The Belkin USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter allows you to connect to wired networks with speed and endurance where wireless connectivity is unreliable or inconsistent. Perfect for MacBook with USB-C port or MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports..."

Once you install that adapter, your Internet traffic will be sent over the TOPMost, working interface shown in

System preferences > Networks

I suggest you use the gear icon and "set service order" to Ethernet TOPMost. Then when Ethernet is not available, it will automatically default to Wi-Fi.

To run at Gigabit speeds, all cables must have all eight conductors present and wired correctly. If limited to only 100 speeds, four conductors will work without issue.
