iPhone 12 OLED Screen Issue

Hello. I bought two iPhone 12 and both has the same issue. In dark surrounding on any brightness lower than 90-100% screen has this ugly glowing! Black pixels are not turning off in dynamic scenes. In static scene black pixels turning off after few seconds.

And this is comparison by another one person who have this problem but with iPhone 12 Pro. iPhone 12 Pro vs iPhone XS screen.

That’s not normal at all. I post it to support and they said I should wait more. That’s just great...

Went to apple store again and was told they have to follow protocol before swapping out my phone. So we did another software reset directly through the computer which did not resolve issue. The next step was to replace the screen and not the entire phone. Took about two and a half hours, but I can confirm that the new screen fixed the problem of the green tint. No more tint or flashing on black screens at any brightness levels, at least so far. I am on ios 14.4. This leads me to believe it is a hardware issue. Hope this helps

It's not going to be fixed since it hardware issue and not going to be noticeable to most.

I finally was able to go into BestBuy and Apple store in person and confirmed all the phones they have on display have green tint to some degree depending on brightness. It's just not noticeable on display models unless you turn down brightness since they automatically have them all set to max brightness to look good in bright store!

The Samsung S21 phones I saw also had tint issue but they tend to have the pink tint instead of the green tint the iPhones had!

All I can figure after half a day shutting every iPhone 12XPRO feature off—and still having my screen darken all by itself—is that the latest update is screwy. I am not ever liking Apple phones auto dark feature. I have vision disability and no control over brightness of my screen. This is horrible.

It looks like the problem has something to do with HDR.

Why HDR the issue is also visible with an full black test picture.

It really is true. Haven't seen the problem occur since updating. I've restarted the phone and it hasn't shown again. Thanks Apple for listening!

Mine does this too. But like yours it turns black after 2 seconds. I think this has something to do with smearing.

They don’t want negative publicity. The problem is still there also with 14.3

I had issue of screen brightness on my iPhone 12 pro being significantly lower vs my wifey's iPhone 12. Had a chat with support and now waiting for the replacement device.

my iphone 12 pro max got yesterday has the same problem. I noticed that turning off the energy saving problem disappears. the problem shows up with a green tint.

That’s the problem, XS doesn’t have this issue. Too bad no one talks about it on mass media, Apple would fix it much faster.
