Cannot accept family sharing invite.

I changed my Apple ID today. After changing it my husband sent me an invite to family sharing (to the new login ID). The invitation shows but when I click on it it spins for a while and I get an error. Any help would be appreciated. FYI her old id is not logged in anywhere.

It’s telling me to send an invitation to the Apple ID I’m already logged into. I’m the administrator of the family sharing but this error message pops up when I try to see my family sharing data. I called Apple support and he had to forward me to senior Apple advisor because he didn’t know why this was happening and the senior advisor also didn’t know why this was happening so I have to wait for another higher up department to hear back from. I’m not mad about it or anything I’m sure this problem isn’t that common but if someone has a way to prevent this from happening again or knows why it happened pls answer. I changed my password, logged out and signed in again, signed out of all other devices, updated my settings, turned my phone and off, and still no luck. I’m still not able to see my family sharing. Could it be a hacker? That makes me nervous. Hopefully Apple will have a resolution when they call me back.

Family Sharing App Requiring Family Members Apple ID to Update A few of the apps on a family members Mac are refusing to update. Each time an update is requested it prompts for the Apple ID of the Family Sharing member who purchased the app originally, not the current users Apple ID. While I could go ahead and sign this in, doing so every time an update is needed would be tedious. I thought that Family Sharing apps were as if you had purchased the app for your own ID (ie they download and update fine as long as an Apple ID in that family is logged in). Does anyone know what could be the cause of this?

Hello ShanEsl,

We would like to see how we can help you set up Family Sharing. Have you had a chance to restart the Mac since changing your Apple ID? If not, please do so now and test to see if the issue persists. Do you get the same error if you connect to a different Wi-Fi network? Get back to us with these details and your current macOS, and we can go from there.
