In a prior version of the OS, there was an Accessibility - Display option for Black on White or White on Black. This was for people with severe vision disabilities. The grayscale option does not work for my student with vision issues, she needs the white on black option to see the screen. How do we get this back? It was the reason we bought her the MacBook.
Accessibility > Display [√] Invert colors
does that. the downside is that primary colors are also reversed.
also, The next version of MacOS, Mojave, has that as a general feature:
