Will iOS 14.2 fix battery drain issue of iphone11?

If you haven't, you may want to check Battery in Settings to see what is using so much power. It will tell you from the last 24 hours and the last 10 days.

Beyond that, it could be many, many things: brightness settings, auto-lock (if Home & Lock Screen is at the top, iPhone isn't going to sleep), social apps like SnapChat that phone home constantly, searching for Wifi, etc.

Or you may need a new battery. That's what the warranty is for :)

To rule out software as the source of the issue, I would suggest an iTunes Restore (after you've backed it up, of course). Then set it back up without loading a backup. If you still have the same battery drain issue, it's probably hardware.

I too have the same problem and after some investigating it looks like it’s the exposure notifications that’s causing the problem for me.

Go to settings then battery and see what app is draining your battery.

Yes, my issue was resolved with iOS 14.2.

You should keep up to date on the current iOS. Update to iOS 14.2 it may fix your problem plus Apple Care agents will always require you be running the current iOS before they deal with any phone issues.

Seems to have fixed it, someone else please verify.

I also turned off bluetooth and reduced motion (accessibility), but I turned bt back on a little later and it still seems fine. Motion probably does not affect standby consumption...

Turning off widgets and special locations was of help for me, I also turned off Optimized Battery Charge. But that’s not how things should be, surely not anything I needed to do with 13.7

You can report your battery issues there and encourage anyone else with iPhone battery issues to report their issues also. The Battery on my iPhone 11 Pro Max was great on iOS 13x, great on 14, extremely crappy on 14.1 (had to charge 3 times a day), and now it Great again on 14.2!

Final update: It was iCloud backup. The 2018 had excessive/bad cache files (large allocation under General->iPad Storage->Other). Prior to fix the size was 8gb (more than OS and more than double what my other devices had).

Would get stuck trying to back up, even to iTunes on pc. Since Apple does not give the user a way to flush cache or run fsck (chkdsk), the only solution was reset/restore.

14.2 will not make the battery any better.

Turning off the battery optimization helped for me... now the battery drain is back to normal

Similar experience; 13.7 battery performance was great, did the mistake of upgrading to 14.2 thinking to enjoy a ‘better’ iOS and now 10% or so are gone each 20 min of using the phone. Wiped out the phone and reinstalled backup from iTunes, not impressive

I completely agree the battery issues are problematic. I have an iPhone 11 running 14.2 but have had the same battery issues but not as frequently as most of you are. My issues are intermittent and I think the added SMART battery case I have on my phone has been what has protected me from experiencing the extreme symptoms and side effects of loosing data. I’m really glad I got the extra battery protective case now more than ever. No, I am NOT saying this is a reasonable solution to the battery issue at all AND it is an expensive, temporary, fix. I don’t even KNOW for a fact that the SMART battery case has helped me but I believe it has. Yes, this is a pervasive issue experienced by far too many, with severe consequences to data, for many and DEMANDS Apples focus on and fixing of, NOW.

In fact 14.2 made is worse. I lasted 1/2 day with typical use.
