Help coverting wma file to mp3

I tried all of the steps on this site. None of them work. My computer is only a couple years old. I have a wma file on my desktop, and nothing works. My wife emailed it to me, and I copied it to my desktop.

I cannot import it to Apple Music no matter what I set the file conversion preference, to. I cannot open it in QuickTime. I can't ask Apple Music to convert it, because it isn't recognized by Apple Music when I go to file>convert.

Apple Music will not accept a drag & drop. Apple Music will not import it when I go to File>Import.

There isn't one process I have found in any online or Apple manual that works. Am I just SOL? I never had this issue before. I have always been ale to convert windows media files to mp3 format for like 20 years. All-of-a-sudden, I seem to be completely barred from doing this.

iTunes on Windows had that capability, as the process uses access to Windows Media Player on the same machine. iTunes on Mac has not, and I am sure Music on Mac can't.

Use a third party conversion program such as Switch recommended by Niel. Convert all your and your wife's remaining WMAs to a usable format (MP3 or AAC) and discard the originals. WMA has been obsolescent for 15 years.
