Try right-clicking on one of the tracks and see if Download is an option from the context menu. If so use it, then try again. You should be able to convert purchased songs.

You cannot convert content that is in the cloud or comes from the Apple Music subscription service.

Thanks. The content I want to convert is music I've bought. Not sure if that means it is in the cloud. I don't subscribe to Apple Music
