CalDAV account will no longer recognise my google calendar

Just upgraded today to iPhone 12. Everything went smoothly except my google calendar, which used to be imported into ical, will no longer work.

I have tried deleting and re-adding, but to no avail.

When I add CalDAV account, I input:

server: calendar.google.com

Username: [my email]

Password: [password]

I get an error message saying: "CalDAV account verification failed"

Please can someone help!
