Mouse pointer size on iOS 14.2

Good evening! When I updated to iOS 14.2, my mouse pointer size became bigger, and I thought it was not normal, I tried to reduce the pointer, but it was still so much bigger. When I turned off AssistiveTouch, my pointer was normal again. So, now I can’t use my mouse with AssistiveTouch turned on, and I need that sometimes, I hope Apple will fix it on the next software update. This is the temporary solution that I’m using.

Well, tell me if you guys have this issue too.

André.

What functionality you mean?

You do not need to turn off the addeptive touch, just turn off "perform touch gestures". This is not bug, they have designed it this way that the pointer act as a finger so it is larger now, if you do not want it turn the "perform touch gestures off". It is not related to your track pad gestures they are ok, it just makes your pointer smaller like before.

Same experience for me, plus the scrolling issues others have mentioned. Simply disabling Perform Touch Gestures added new problems without improving usability, and disabling AssistiveTouch altogether is not an option for me. I tried restoring my 14.1 backup that I made right before upgrading, but that was before learning that Apple blocked any kind of downgrading (even from backups), so I was forced to upgrade back to 14.2 after the restore was complete.

Apple Support had me restore the iPad and set it up as new. This seems to have resolved all the issues I was having with the magic keyboard on 14.2. But this is a solution so far from ideal as to be utter madness. Fortunately for me, I've only had this iPad for about two months, so I have not lost much. And even though I'm now disgruntled at having to set up everything all over again, it's still better to have the thing functioning as expected. I'll never run another OS upgrade in the middle of a semester again, that's for sure.

Thanks for your notes on this matter. I agree; running this update so early was a rookie move on my part. If I understand your post correctly, restoring as new was the magic bullet (for you) that returned the magic keyboard's functionality to the way it operated pre-14.2. So you are running in 14.2 but no longer have any of the issues reported above, yes? Thanks!

Cheers,
