Welcome, elizabetha144, to Apple Support Communities!
While you may be able to find an installer for Adobe Flash, for macOS 10.15 something, I recommend you read the following from Adobe: Adobe Flash Player EOL[End of Life] General Information Page.
Yes, just make sure the website source is legitimate and the graphic look familiar.
since you asked that specific question, you received a straight answer.
as far as the end of the year flash theories, web designers still use that for older graphics and video streaming.
and will continue into next year. if safari blocks that in 2021 then we can delete that software and move on or use another source.
Actually, snowleapard2020 (and elizabetha144), as I understand it, Adobe will be blocking the use of Adobe Flash, beginning 2021.
After all, Adobe owns the Flash “language”, so, if they want to prohibit its use, they have every right.
Additionally, snowleapard2020 and elizabetha144, the replacement is not some Flash “clone” of some kind, but for website creators and maintainers to use HTML 5, which has been around for years on all major web browsers, such as Safari.
Only education sites are anticipated to have any problem with this transition, even though they, like everyone else, have had over three (3) years to prepare (longer, actually, if they paid attention). This is due to lower budgets for inflation tech.
Yes, snowleapard2020.
However, due to Adobe’s End-of-Life (EoL) of Flash, even the latest Flash Player is set to terminate operations coming January 1st, 2021.
Enjoy it while it lasts, but better to perform the long overdue migration off of Adobe Flash, to something that will continue to work into the future.
That was supposed to be information tech (IT)!
I must not have noticed the “auto-correct”!
The concern of the post was the availability of flash, which i downloaded Tuesday for a spare macbook air running mountain lion that needed the update.
