Since upgrading to iOS14, all VPN connections using L2TP IPsec have stopped working. I have a Draytek 2860. I understand the encryption has changed but cannot see how to overcome this issue.

Thank you for the heads up with Draytek Smart VPN app. I downloaded and it worked first time. Hopefully Apple will sort out their mess in an upgrade.
Had the same problem after ‘upgrading’ to Big Sur. The only solution I found was to use Draytek’s Smart VPN to connect, choosing SSL connection.
We also use MS Remote Desktop, that stopped working using PC names, can only remote using ip addresses.
Really getting sick of Apple’s OS.

I control the VPN services as mentioned in the OP, I have the draytek 2860.
Is MS rdp a DNS issue.

Support for PPTP/L2TP was dropped in Catalina?
So not really "Apples mess" but more a security decision.
Question isn’t about Catalina but iOS14. Having said that’s L2TP works fine with My MacBook Pro running Catalina conecting to both Draytek 2860 and 2862.
