Unable to create new mailbox in Mail

Running Mojave on Macbook Pro Mid 2014

IMAP account.

I like to keep my emails organised so created folders for the account. This worked fine until i did a clean re-instal.

When i right-click on the account in Mail, i can click New Mailbox.. it then allows me to name it, but it doesnt show up alongside the mailbox's i'd previously created. I have a second account on IMAP and have no issues creating folders for this one)

(This may or may not be relevant, but if i scroll down to the second account as it's listed on the left hand column, i click the + to the right, to create a New Mailbox, i can select the account that isn't allowing me to create mailboxes. 1. If i call the mailbox somethign that i've tried before, i get the message that that folder already exists. 2. If i call it somethign new the folder temporarily appears for a few seconds and then disappears.)

Hopefully this is enough information, hope someone can help.

That should work, but doing it in Safe Mode may help insure success. :)

Restart...

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup).

Install OSX.

YES, i've always manually backed up, but timemachine is in my todo list this week :)

The reason i am using Mojave is that I run Ableton Live 8 and it doesn't work on OSX following Mojave. I am sure that i was able to create the mailboxes running Mojave though. Do you have any suggestions?

But to clarify. (First time machine back up obvs :) )

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

Workable but harder for me to work with...the Note tool on the bottom of this editor's toolbar, as shown in the image, to copy and paste the output from EtreCheck. In a Reply before you click post, look for this to add longer texts...
