after updating to mac catalina 10.15.7 my HP Officejet pro 8600 printer gives message "waiting for printer to become available". I cannot find a software update for 10.15.7

How can I get my Office Jet Pro 8600 printer to work after updating to Catalina 10.15.7?

Apple will not solve the problem, Apple aren't here reading your posts

just users like yourself. This is an HP problem so get them to fix it.

But first tell us what you have done to solve the problem.

Did you go to the HP Officejet Pro 8600 support page, if not click the link below.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-officejet-pro-8600-e-all-in-one-printer-series-n911/4322914/model/4323658

Make sure the operating system selector is set to macOS 10.15.

Click the + button next to Driver and download the HP Easy Start app that was released on the 2nd November.

Run the app and it should download any new drivers or software for your printer.

When you have done that Reset your Printing System.

Open >System Preferences>Software Update (Command R will reload and do a fresh check)

Update: HP Printer Software 5.1 should now be becoming available through Software Update to fix this issue.

(2220 UTC 23 October 2020)

or

Apple direct download:

If you still have an issue, and listed as AirPrint printer, delete the existing printer in

> System Preferences> Printers & Scanners, and add it again, select AirPrint.

The Apple help line did in fact solve the problem. At the time, the HP website did not have that new driver. By calling apple help, the man walked me through a process. I had already went through HP's automated help, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, etc. Apple help walked me through remove the printer- reset printing system- and the one step I had not yet done, Finder- go-computer- Macintosh HD- library- trash the printer file- image capture- devices- trash all files- reinstal printer.

Problem solved. If I encounter additional issues, I am now aware of new downloads available from HP

Thanks
