Final Cut Pro X

Something changed in Final Cut Pro X. When I use to import videos, the aspect ratio did not dictate it's position in portrait or landscape. Now, FCPX is importing and automtically making the decision for me. How do I change this. The original is in portrait, but FCPX puts it into Landscape.

Maybe post a screenshot or two showing what you mean would help.

Importing a video clip does not change it in any way.

But maybe the metadata in some clips is incorrect, and a 1080x1920 is seen as being 1920x1080 or something like that.


Please elaborate.

You can also open one such clip in Quicktime Player, press command-I and post a screenshot, then show us what you get on import.
