CAC card compatialibly on Ipad pro 12.9

IPad Pro 12.9 2020, will not recognize the CAC/piv reader with a USB-C converter. I have to use the CAC Card Reader on the IPad 6 Gen to get my business work done. Is there a way that Apple can integrate the compatibility format from IPad 6gen to the IPad Pro 12.9 2020, so a cac card reader be used?
