Snoozing an alarm creates a new alarm

When I snooze an alarm it actually creates a new alarm and if it is a recurring event this new alarm is added to all the following events. Is there a way to stop this from happening? I never had this with any other calendars when I snoozed alarms.

Hi there glacierhiking,

We understand that when choosing to snooze a calendar event alert on your Mac the event will create a new alert, and apply the alert to all reoccurring events. We understand your concern with this, and we'd be happy to help.

To get started, is this issue occurring with an iCloud calendar event, or another third-party email account?

Does removing and recreating the event have any affect on the issue? If unsure, let's give that a try with the steps shown here: Add, modify, or delete events in Calendar on Mac

Let us know if that helps.

Take care!

Thanks for the reply. Recreating the event only worked if I hand typed in the Event Title it deleted the extra alarms. However, if I chose the title from the list that popped up as I was typing it, the alarms were still there. Then I tried an entirely new event with a totally different time, day, and name and I couldn't reproduce the problem. So guess for now case solved until it happens again. Just so you can see what am talking about I've attached a photo of what one of the events looked like and so did all the ones that followed it. https://www.dropbox.com/s/s7goifcdxx3qzka/Screen%20Shot%202020-11-11%20at%204.49.48%20PM.png?dl=0
