No Messages notifications after update to iOS 14.2

This has also been happening to me. I tried resetting my phone but it didn’t do anything. I’m not sure why it’s doing this. Messages won’t show up on my watch either so I never know when I have gotten a text message and have to keep checking to see if I missed any messages. Very frustrating. I hope it’s fixed soon.

I love how this happens or something similar every time a new model phone is released. It’s almost like I don’t have a choice. It doesn’t matter that I just got the last model phone and have kept it in the best condition and babied it and treated it like gold and updated it and kept it protected from all evil. Looks like I’m being forced to buy another.

I am on a 12 pro and running 14.2.1 - still happening for me. It was fixed for a minute but then I noticed today that I wasn’t getting text messages notifications from android users again. I missed a text from my son.

I too have an iphone XS, and I am having the same issue since the IOS14.2 upgrade and it is driving me crazy! I would say 30% of my text messages (happening with both Imessage and SMS), I am not getting a notification... no sound, no red number over my message icon indicating a new message, no banner on the screen, nothing!! The weird thing is some texts are working just fine. Others do not. So I know it's not a setting because I have not changed anything. And if it was a setting thing, they would all be screwed up. I have missed important messages. You have to keep constantly checking your message log to see if there is anything new.. who wants to do this? What good is the phone if you don't know when you are getting a text? A lot of texts I receive are time sensitive. I have to tell the people hours or days later oh sorry I just saw this text now. Not good. What is Apple doing about this?? I have tried every work around that people have posted online, and so far nothing is working. Please help!

I don't use the pin feature. But that's worth mentioning. I appreciate everyone's feedback and good to know I am not the only one with this issue. I just tested the backing all the way out of the message conversation and killing the app after every text you send... and I still missed one... so that's not a work around either.

I've been having this issue as well, on my 8. I'm running the latest software available for the 8, which is 14.2, and the problem seems to have started with this most recent update. It's super frustrating because people will text me and I don't see it, and it's even happening when I have my phone in my hand and in front of my face and I'm just in a different app. There are no notifications, no sounds, no banners, nothing. But, interestingly enough, I get marketing text messages just fine. It's only texts from my actual contacts that are failing to be notified.

Mines doing the same thing. I will get notifications if I’m already on my phone, but if it’s locked I won’t get new message notifications unless someone sends two messages. Has this been addressed yet with anyone?

I am having the same exact problems! It happened with the update before 14.2. When the 14.2 update came out I thought yes! A new update maybe it will be fixed now. Nope, still have the same problems and on top of that my battery started to drain super fast after this last update.

I sure hope this update fixes all of the problems I’ve had with not being notified of messages. This problem with the lack of battery life on my iPad mini 4 and constant going to home page (despite doing a factory restore), I’m also ready to go to android and back to PCs which I never thought I’d say.

The same thing happened to me as well. Fixed it with 14.3 and now it’s back again with 14.4. Also the phantom email issue is back again. It’s like they resorted back to a previous update. iOS 14 must have been developed by a third grade computer class for a project. The incompetence with these devs is mind boggling.

I've having the same issue. I do not receive military notifications of base closures due to weather. I've verified with them that my number is accurate and they are sending text and voice messages. But they don't show. How do I correct this?

Not getting any text message notifications at all. This is a really big huge problem for me because I am a home health nurse and when I am on call that is how I am notified of a call. This is a serious problem I can’t get into trouble because of text messaging not notifying me. I need help ASAP.

I'm seeing the same issue although I'm on an XR running iOS 14.4, only affecting iMessage & SMS, doesn't show on the watch that there has even been a message either. Very, very frustrating. All other alerts are fine.

I had same issues on 12 pro max, randomly would miss calls on facetime, never show missed notification... imessages would be delayed, not dellivered. It was strange and few weeks ago started working normaly out of nothing. Now it has 14.4.2 and is still working normaly for me, but my other friends and family are having same issue I had. Spent yesterday half a day trying to fix on 14.4.2 12 Pro, but no success, its gets even wors as it cant acctivate number any more, only email.

So frustrating.

Please fix this.
