Photos turn grey after editing

I am currently editing photos on the Photos app that were taken as RAW files. Random photos are turning grey after editing and saving the changes - both as a thumbnail (see photo attached) and when I click on the photo. While on the grey photo, if I click 'edit' again, the photo re-appears, but then turns grey again if I save the edits again. If I remove the edits, the photo returns to normal. I tried removing the edits, then re-editing, which worked for a couple of photos but not for others.

Does it have something to do with the size of the file and editing increases it? That's the only thing

I can think of.

The RAW support for your RAW files may have been changed by the last system software update you installed. Then you can either revert to the original as Tony recommended, or check, if the Image menu is offering "Reprocess RAW". The "Reprocess RAW"is only available, when the RAW support has been updated. In that case I would duplicate the photo before trying to reprocess the RAW. A new RAW development could change the appearance of the developed photo considerably and sometimes the old version may be looking better.

Hi

You are editing raw files. This seems to be a bug I am experiencing also - If it is the same problem I am seeing, reverting edits to original will bring the image back to normal - after which you can edit again without problems.

The workaround I use is:

Import the raw files

Select them all (in all photos view)

CMD-E (auto enhance)

Image menu>Revert to original (while they are all still selected)

From then on they all work fine.
