VPN send/receive error in Microsoft Outlook for Mac.

Hi all, I am using a VPN for privacy but when the VPN client is on I can't receive emails via Outlook 2016 for mac or the Mail app.

I have searched the web far and wide but found no result for the problem until I read an article about the error 3253 message “Connection to the Server failed or was dropped” in Sync error window. and saw a section on the location services for Outlook for Mac which states turning this off when using a VPN client, this is done by:



• Open System Preferences >Security & Privacy > Location Services
• Unlock the Services by Clicking the lock to make changes
• Then turn off location for Microsoft Outlook

Once done I was able to receive emails without any errors.
