I do not have an apple store near me, what are my options to fix the problem? Currently left my phone buried in dry rice inside a ziplock bag.

Let me understand you. You put your phone under water to take photographs?
If you did, you have voided any warranty you had left on your phone and almost assuredly destroyed it as iPhone is not now, nor has it ever been waterproof. It is water resistant.
NEVER submerge your phone in water. EVER. BTW., rice is a wives tail remedy. Once water gets inside a phone it destroys the electronics sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly. If you haven't already, backup your phone immediately to preserve your data.
You'll either be offered an Out of Warranty replacement at about 60% of the cost of the phone when it was new, or if you purchased AppleCare+ when you bought the phone a much reduced cost replacement.
You've destroyed your device.
No iPhone has ever been waterproof.
Water damage is not covered by the standard warranty and you'll have to have your device replaced.
You are not supposed to submerge your phone in any liquid.
Water damage is not covered by any warranty.
