Just bought the IPhone 12 Pro and I can’t switch between Apps

I just bought the IPhone 12 Pro the other day and today it stopped letting me switch between apps. I can swipe up to open the app switcher, but when I swipe it doesn’t do anything. It also won’t let me close out the Apps by swiping up on them.

Opening App Switcher has changed from older versions/devices. Start at the bottom of the screen and swipe up to the middle and hold until it opens. More information in Switch apps on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
