So I got my watch from a second hand store and it’s linked to someone else’s Apple ID know the original owner?

I bought a apple watch series 4 from a goodwill and it's hooked up to another person's apple id. What am I supposed to do if I want to hook my phone up to it and it won't let me?

Take it back to the store as it's of no use to you,the original owner needs to remove the activation lock or else it's of no use to anyone.
