I have just recently bought and new Iphone and get free Apple TV for a year. But issue, my Samsung Smart TV does not support Apple TV App and I don;t want to spend £150 on a Apple box. Cannot work out using a mirror app from phone to TV, so how can connect my phone/or Ipad to my TV to watch Apple TV?

If your TV doesn’t support the Apple TV app, and also doesn’t support AirPlay, then you should connect a HDMI streaming device, such as the Apple TV box, a Roku, a Fire TV device, or Xbox One/X/S. Alternatively, you could connect a Mac through HDMI (TV as (2nd) computer screen), but HDMI adapters for mobile devices are not supported by the Apple TV app.
Many thanks for your reply. Cannot get Roku TV App either, was going to try HDMI adapter, but now you said does not work, will not buy one of those.
So looks like I have to spend money on either Apple TV Box or Fire TV device, not ideal.
