iPhone 12 is so slow

Same here. Had a couple of VPN apps one of which was switched on. Turned it off and I did switch various settings from 5G to 5GAuto and then LTE and then back to 5G Auto. Everything cleared up and I have my speed back.

I just turned off my Norton VPN and iPhone 12 max got faster 🤯

I had a VPN on my phone. I think that was my issue. I removed it and so far the phone is much faster. We'll see.

I solved my problems by redoing my network settings, that took care of my slow iPhone.

go to wifi settings click your network and make sure low data mode is off if you are getting this on data too go to settings > cellular > cellular data options > 5g on

you can also use lte which is the exact same as your 11 but do not use 5g auto because it purposefully slows your connection until you use it but it’s really slow so you have to wait for it to speed up every time you connect.

I have to say my phone is fine now. We had to wipe it clean & download from the cloud. I think I might have done something wrong when I tried transferring my data myself. I really love my 12 now!

Turn off the VPN option by going to setings

Then you should see the first screen witht he Airplane mode and 5 other option

The very last one of that group should ve the Blue VPN box. Click that and another window will open.

Click on the. Make sure it says not connected. See photo provided.

May have found a solution - for now and for my 12 at least. I did a Google search and found some hacks. Most have been mentioned here. In addition - they suggested toggling Low Data mode (Settings - Wifi - Your wifi network "I" in a circle - tap that, scroll down, toggle Low Data mode. I turned mine On and my phone is much faster! I've been ready to launch it into space ever since I got it. Hope it works for you folks, too!

I've had my 12 Pro Max since release day and have never seen that happen. Not once.

So the question is what's causing it, and it's usually an app that's incompatible with iOS 14 using a lot of CPU, or a background task that's "stuck."

Do you see anything out of the ordinary in your battery usage statistics?

Well turning off the private address as suggested has ostensibly solved the problem for me. Have experienced no slow connections since the change - occurred daily before.

Please make sure that no VPN configuration is enabled.
