iPhone 12 is so slow

Said hardware was checking out diagnostic wise. Hasnt been icloud backed up in awhile to try that and factory reset and reload. Wife got a 12 mini same time and hers is fine she says. I not a complainer but this thing irritates me. Just want it fixed.

This phone is PAINFULLY slow. I just bought iPhone 12 Pro Max about two weeks ago and it makes me wanna cryyyyyyy. I also have an android and I never EVER thought I’d say this but android kicks iOS’ butt sorry. And this is from a “iPhone original bought everything up to 8 then stopped except for an iPad Pro a couple years ago”. I am so disappointed.

would you say that deleting antivirus and turning off auto 5g is not a solution even though it helped? sorry to be a pain I am near my 4 day cooling period and just need some help as I love the Iphone 12 apart from the slow data.

I am completely frustrated as well, I have waited so long to get a new phone, and I finally splurge and I absolutely hate this phone nothing will refresh nothing will open and streaming is horrible! I really don’t see how it’s the carrier I’ve had the same carrier And the same account for 20+ years wishing I hadn’t splurged and bought a new phone and had my old one back, if this is 5G and what 5G is about thanks but no thanks

Nothing about private addresses should slow down anything.

By “inside the i,” they mean tap this in your list of Wi-Fi networks under Settings.

I’m having the same problems, wether I have the private WiFi turned on or off, the internet connection is super slow or won’t connect at all

Apple seems to have a great deal of issues lately, my wife’s Samsung android phone works great, none of the problems like Apple seems to have on a regular basis

May have to consider switching over to Samsung products if these issues aren’t resolved soon

I can’t believe this post is almost a year old!! My 12 just started slowing down in the last week! We just had another update so your answer sounds good. I just followed your instructions. I got a pop up saying, “Using a private setting helps reduce tracking your iPhone across different WiFi networks”. Any idea what that means?

It's theoretically possible to track your device across multiple WiFi networks by looking for your iPhone's hardware interface address.

Private browsing generates a unique private address for each WiFi network you join, so people tracking traffic have no way to associate your interface address back to your specific iPhone.

Yes agreed, my iphone 12 is incredibly slow and safari often losses contact with the server (so it says). Probably the worst mobile phone I have purchased yo date certainly the slowest iphone I have ever owned wish I had my 8 back this has been a significant downgrade.

i had same issue. it was fine yesterday, but suddenly become very slow last night when i try to watch netflix. did speedtest at fast.com with 200kbps average download speed. i use my androind on the same wifi and its works well.

You stated “its always been there”, but does anyone know why its just a problem now and not preveiously?

Side bar- I agree with the user that the language seems severe if we choose to turn off “private”.

Side bar- Maybe its obvious to everyone else and nobody cares about this. Basically, its seems to appear that if users want to get the most out of their phone, we are going to be tracked in one way or another no matter how much we try to prevent it.

this is dreadful we get suckered into buying a new version and it works so much worse than a previous in my case iphone 6

I have sent my iPhone 12 back and will be sticking with my ultra fast iPhone X and just replacing battery

This is incredibly disappointing Apple. Mine is in the same boat.
