iPhone 12 is so slow

iPhone 12 Pro Max running super slow. Refreshing is taking for ever. I type a word and the letters slowly appear. Gaming is only losing just to slow. When I stick it in de freezer for 5min it’s runs fine for a bit then back to slowmotion mode. Wil there soon be a update that fixes this. Haha you buy th “fastest@ phone evt but now it doesn’t even compete against the 10X. Apple come on fix this.

I’ve tried all the advice that has been given on this post and nothing helps how slow my iPhone 12 Pro is . Maybe I’m just so used to the Samsung Galaxy S20 ultra and the google pixel 3a??? ( my last 2 phones ) Maybe it’s an iPhone thing since I’m new to iPhone as this phone was a gift from my Son and Daughter-in-law . I’m going to stick it out for 2 years and see if apple gives an update which I sure hope they do because this 12 pro reminds me of dial up !

really has nothing to do with the programs I run. I only use ios apps and I close them when done. I empty cache, keep memory half free etc etc... been using iPhones since the 3rd iPhone. I use MacBook Pro, iPad Pro. Never had issues like this. Only thing I can think of is that it either got to warm or it needs an update cause since the last one it’s acting up. I know it won’t last long... come with the update please :)

That is not a solution... it’s the new flagship 12 PRO MAX!

apple should come out with an update soon. Having Bluetooth on plus WiFi plus running an app should be a piece of cake for the new 12 PRO MAX, not slowing it down.

the iphone 12 pro max for me is the worst phone out there it is so slow i dont have signal or cellular data i cant even look at my cameras or the alarm to my house i cant do anything on it if im not home connected to my wifi and sometimes not even the wifi works. I was told they were working on a update to fix this but i have not seen anything i have had this phone for 2 months worst phone ever .

instagram and Facebook stories take forever to load. Sometimes pictures will have that buffering circle. This only happens on cellular but not wifi. Already changed cellular setting from 5g auto to either 5g on or LTE. Same issue with my other half’s 12 pro max as well. :(

This is weirdly a common problem unfortunately. The 12 is not cheap at all and especially having to buy a charger additionally with it. Having said that, paying that much money for a product that is constantly lagging and is slow is very annoying and frustrating and it is getting harder each day justifying me dropping the amount of money I did. I have 4+ acquaintances that are having the exact same problem, and we are contemplating just selling our 12 because at least the resell value is still near the retail price since it is new, and buying a Samsung, even if that means we have to leave the apple ecosystem and deal with peers joking about the green text bubble. I also have the iPhone 7 Plus (64gb) which was my old phone and the memory on my 7 plus is full, so obviously the phone slows down, but it’s still a lot quicker than my 12 which has 128 gb of storage and only 45 gb is being used.

APPLE PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS

yeah , I’m not impressed with Apple . I have the iPhone 12pro ( a gift from my son and daughter-in-law so we could be on the same platform ) and I feel so bad that they are paying their hard earned money for this. When I need to do things quickly I get out my trusty google pixel 3a and I can zip through websites. The 12 pro feels like dial up even after I tweaked it. So crazy . The only thing I like is the Apple Watch SE . My daughter in law has the new mini and honestly I wish that’s what I had ! It’s nicer IMO than the pro series and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

Couldn’t agree more, I upgraded from an iPhone X to a 12 mini and all I’ve had is disappointment! Slow performance, flickering cameras, yellow tinges on the screen, I’m just waiting to discover something else... #epicfailapple

Mine was not the best but has gotten slower now that I’ve had it past the 14 day return window, as I got it through AT&T. Just switched back to Apple after being a Samsung fan for the past 10yrs. I got the 12pro bc it was supposed to be the best of the best and, man, this doesn’t feel worth $1000....

Then eBay it and buy something else.

If you want help tracking down what apps or background syncs might be making it slow, people here will help.

If you just want to complain that it's "slow" (when it is definitely not), not so much.

I recently got an iphone 12 mini. By far the worst iphone ive ever owned. I cuss it daily. Super slow the screen locks up. I have to tap things 2-3 times to get them to work. I have 5g at work and its honestly slower than dialup. And thats around Pittsburgh Pa where you think it would be a decent network. I dont use wifi so the private address prob isnt an isssue. The phone is just slow in general like an old pc. Super frustrating for how much you spend.

I’m having exactly the same issues, also 5G, also super fast fibre broadband, screen unresponsive, like yours, then freezes, then un-freezes, really really poor phone and I wish I’d never upgraded from my iPhone X. This has to be the worst phone I’ve had from Apple to date. Are they recognising there’s issues either with software or hardware no... and to make matters worse, I’m locked into a 36 month contract, thankfully with an upgrade option after 18 months! C’mon Apple, if this were a school report you’d definitely be getting ‘must do better’ from the teacher!

I was just stating the 5g was terrible. The phone its self is slow. So the phone locking up for minutes at a time and screen going black and not being able to use any functions as well as the home button is a carrier issue? First time it locked up was minutes out of the box. Used to love iphones. This one has me thinking other options sadly.

I can assure you, it’s NOT my carrier. And the issues persist even when connected to Wi-fi, which is with BT, the most stable and fastest provider in the UK. It’s the phones there’s a problem with. And your comments are neither helpful nor polite.
