iPhone 12 is so slow

My new iPhone 12 is slow internally and especially when using the internet, even on WiFi. News feed won't even refresh. I'll try opening something from settings and it's even slow to open things that doesn't require internet. I'm constantly turning it off to see if this will help and it doesn't. I'm having a hard time using the internet even with the best wifi, it's almost dial up speeds to open a webpage. Is phone broken or is this normal? My old iPhone XS Max was 100x faster.

thanks for advice. I just scheduled appointment with Apple tech. My husband is having same issue he said. My last phone worked great. Just this one. And it maybe profile issue as all my Apple settings did not port over with new phone even though I had a more qualified professional back it up and port it for me. I’m not sure. It maybe phone itself.

I’m having the same issue. Brand new iPhone 12 pro is annoyingly sloooow. I’ve had it for 2 weeks but after 2 days, I put it back in the box and fired up my old iPhone X. It sucks because I waited for the 12 and I was so excited. I wonder if it has anything to do w COVID....maybe after everything beings shut down, it was rushed out. It all comes down to the old mighty dollar after all. I’m gonna try it for a day and if it’s not better, I’ll return it 😟

Note if turning off private Wi-Fi makes your browsing faster, it's actually an issue in either your Wi-Fi router or with your ISP.

Nothing inherent to private Wi-Fi will slow down browsing at all.

It's great that it works as a workaround, but essentially it's hiding an issue elsewhere in your infrastructure (or your employer's or whomever provides your Wi-Fi) and may return someday.

My new iPhone 12 pro is slower than my iPhone 7. It’s so annoying when you pay a lot for a newer, “ faster” phone and it takes forever sometimes for an email or news story to open or waiting for more news to upload. This was not an issue with my 7. The battery also does not last as long as it should. Doing a zoom meeting with family worked much better with the 7 than the new 12. The phone is less than a month old. Solutions?

I agree, I have the 12 pro and my 11 and x before that were both great. This one is horrible I wish I could return it. Not sure if it was the pandemic and they had low staffing or what but whatever they did this time around has got me itching to switch away from apple phones. I’ve already swapped out my MacBook Pro for a pc and loving It.

Same here ! I’m so disappointed. My son and daughter-in-law bought me the iPhone 12 Pro. My last phones were all the latest galaxies and after selling my galaxy s20 ultra I got a google pixel 3a to try and so far that $300 google pixel blows this thousand dollar iPhone away . I obviously would never tell my children that. My whole family has iPhones and I thought iMessage would be magical but ...not! It’s just so disappointing for my first iPhone . The google pixel 3a is faster with a much brighter screen i, super light weight and it takes way better pictures !!!!!! I hope apple fixes this issue . Right now this iPhone 12 is dull. I’m gonna tough it out for 2 years but after that I’m going back to google if it’s not resolved !
