Do the widgets drain battery? Especially the news and weather one if the location is set to while using app only?

what are some other battery health saving tips?

Widgets will consume power at different levels depending on their functions, however the design guide for widgets highlights for developers to try to make them as energy efficient as possible. It really depends on the widget design and the developer’s decisions on refresh frequency. I would recommend keeping your widgets in a Smart Stack if you cant decide between some or you want multiple on your Home Screen as this will attempt to show the right one at the right time depending on when the widget says it is most relevant and should help to save battery life. For the news and weather widgets they don’t seem to drain much battery for me when keeping them on my Home Screen with location enabled.
