Typing is delayed in messages

I have iOS14.2. iPhone XS. When typing in messages, there is sometimes a delay from when I start typing, to when the letters start appearing.

Any suggestions?

Typing a message I have an IPhone 12 Pro, and today for some reason when I go to write a text, the keyboard appears at the left hand side of my phone. It is impossible to type and see the screen as you have to turn the phone sideways. Has anyone else have this problem when typing a text message? Or can someone tell me how to fix it? Keystroke Delay in Messages iPhone 11 Pro Max iOS 14.0.1 When typing in messages, my keystrokes aren’t being registered immediately — that is to say, I don’t see my text appear in the text box for a few seconds after having already input in the messages on the keyboard. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but it does make the experience a bit lacking and takes away from the buttery smooth experience of the iPhone.

I have turned the phone off, and back on before, but the problem still intermittently appears.
