Adding printer using WPS

I am trying to add a printer by WPS.

I open airport utility (6.3.9) on my mac (10.15.7), click on the time capsule image (7.9.1), click edit, click the base station tab at the top left of the screen and then click add WPS printer. I press the button on the printer (not that I think it matters but it is Xerox Phaser).

A box then appears saying "the new WPS printer successfully joined your network" and lists a Description and MAC address. I click done.

However the printer does not show up in the printers and scanners section of system preferences and I cannot print from my computer. Nor can I see it if I try to print something on my iPhone.

What am I not doing/doing incorrectly please?

Yes, at least according to the Xerox specifications, the Phaser 6022 is an AirPrint printer.

See the Xerox Phaser 6022 Printer User Guide for details:

If this has not been done already, you could try to switch off (remove power from) the router, printer, computer, and iPhone. After a minute power on the router. Wait another minute and switch on the printer, computer, and iPhone.

Do you also have the following driver?
