m1 chip and java

Specifically I run a program called Visual-Paradigm. It uses:

`OpenJDK Runtime Environment 11.0.7+10`

Does Apple have any input on this situation?

Are you working with Oracle, for instance?

Can we expect an announcement on M1 and Java?

Apple is not here. Just fellow users who cannot voice input, or speculate about Apple business decisions, or working relationships with vendors (e.g. Oracle). Apple product teams do not participate in these public communities either.

Contact the developer of the OpenJDK/Java 11 distribution, and Visual-Paradigm to see what their futures will be regarding the M1 architecture, or how it will behave in Big Sur Rosetta2 Intel emulation mode. If Oracle got their hands on one of the ARM-based Mac mini loaners during the beta program, then they may have an answer for you once Big Sur is released tomorrow.
