I prefer the workaround as I rarely actually open up the Contacts app and it’s not just email, it affects Whatsapp and Messages too.

Peter, it is helpful and appreciated that you offered a work around to address the email naming problem. You have definitely withstood plenty of negative comments and folks coming into the thread with comments that have not read previous mostly. Such is the nature of forums. Your post about this being the hardest you’ve earned was also a nice laugh, so thanks fir that.

But, referring to yourself as Jesus did is unlikely to engender support and may inflame others. Unclear if you are doing so with these goals in mind. I offer a suggestion to just let folks vent frustration, which is obviously a part of how people use forums, rather than fire back each time. We are often remembered most for our last worst act.

This doesn’t solve the problem, please remove your “Solved” check mark since your solution is a weak bandaid at the best. This is misleading. Fixing a problem should not resolve in creating other problems. Apple needs to fix this issue since everything was working well before this last update.

I have a similar issue with the Subject in in my emails being displayed backwards. I. E. The first word in the subject being displayed as the last word. Just happened with the latest iOS update.

THAT is a smart reaction. Thank you. This is not a preference, it is a mistake. I have to go now to read York Times The New. Then maybe Communities Apple Support. Or maybe to read what Market The Fresh is offering. This should be embarrassing for Whoever did it .

Seems like the listing of emails in the Inbox displays correctly. However when you go into each individual email,; it displays backwards e.g. this email in the Inbox shows as coming from

’Apple Support Communities’

but when I open the email, it shows as if it is from

’Communities Apple Support’

That is a bit of an over-reaction. With my workaround that you credited dodapper1 with, Mail works as before. Try again.

No it simply swaps columns 1 and 2

So you updated from 14.2 to 14.3, you cannot update the same ios “again” without restoring to factory settings.

I am having the same problem for the past 2 months approximately (maybe after an automatic update).

The emails now are listed with the second word first:

-Eats Uber, instead of Uber Eats

-Deals Spirit, instead of Spirit Deals

This is really irritating and I would like apple to fix that glitch in the software.

Please update us on the issue.

Yes I thought that too, but at my age I just assumed it was my memory.

Anyhoo we found a control between us.

Does my contacts remedy not work for you?

Nope. Changed the order in contacts. Would rather keep that straight and read mail like Yoda.
