Apple Watch haptics automatically switching off

I recently updated to iOS 14 and the latest watch OS. Ever since then, the haptics on the watch haven’t been working. When I go to the watch app on my iPhone X and go to Sounds and Haptics, Haptic Alerts are switched off. When I switch it on, it automatically switches back off after 5 seconds. I’ve never seen anything like this before! The watch itself says it has haptics switched on, but clearly this isn’t the case. It’s really frustrating! What’s the solution?

Hi there andrewfromsunbury-on-thames,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like your Haptics are not working properly on your Apple Watch. Have you tried turning off both the iPhone and Apple Watch both and then turn on the iPhone and then the Apple Watch. This article tells you more about adjusting the haptic settings: Adjust brightness, text size, sounds, and haptics on Apple Watch.

If the issue continues, reach out to Apple directly here: Get Support.

We hope this helps!
