IOS 14.2 iPhone 10X notifications not presented on lock screen/ no background refresh

Let's also triple check that Do Not Disturb hasn't accidentally been enabled, and that your notifications are set correctly. The resources below can help.

Another thing to check out, is in Setting > General > Date & Time, you have "Set Automatically" selected, and the correct data and time showing.

Lastly, if your using a VPN, try disabling that and testing if the issue continues.

This does not solve the problem. These steps assume the user changed their settings. All of my notifications were working fine on Thursday, 11/19. I upgraded overnight to 14.2 on my iPhone 10 and am no longer getting notifications. I have automatic updates turned on but still confirmed all apps are up to date, my time is set to automatic, no do not disturb mode on & no VPN connections even configured on my device. There was clearly an update pushed out for text message notifications for iPhone 12 users - perhaps this bug also applies to older devices but doesn’t seem as serious since it’s not text messages. I can assure you this bug is just as serious when one of the apps not working is my child’s baby monitor. Please look into this - it’s becoming a very big issue and has me wanting to leave the Apple product line all together.

I am having this same issue on iPhone 12. Notifications for iMessage are not displaying, and it will even say messages are read when they have not even been opened. This is very frustrating, after purchasing an iPhone 12, and it has been nothing but issue after issue since purchase. First, it randomly will disconnect from all cellular data, and i will have to reset network settings to be able to restore functions to my phone, and now iMessage is all bugged out. It doesn't happen to all texts, but a good major it will not display a notification / make a sound / even display that I have received a text. This has me feeling this may be my last iPhone, and it may be time to move on, after owning Apple products for over 10 years.

Hello everybody, got the same issue since 2 days ago on my iPhone X with iOS 14.2 and it got me very frustrated. I think what triggered the bug for me was when I used 'Do not disturb' function for the first time since long time ago. I tried all the possible fixes that worked for others and in the end I updated my iPhone to iOS 14.3 beta and this didn't worked as well. After the update I tried to delete each app that was affected: Whatsapp, instagram and fb messenger, Spark which is my email client worked always fine and wasn't affected by the bug. After installing them again all of them work very fine, as they used to do before this annoying bug. I did all the tests( with app open, app closed from background, display off with app killed from background, etc.) and now all of them work smooth. Hope it helps!
