Best Mac for video editing.

I’m looking to upgrade my 2015 MacBook Pro, trying to decide if it’s better to get the new MacBook Pro with the M1 chip or an IMac. My budget is not amazing at the moment, but I definitely need to upgrade to something with more RAM and faster. My main use is for video editing and photo editing! Any advice would be great. Ideally a MacBook would be better for me but if an IMac is gonna be better for video editing then I’m willing to get :) thanks in advance!

If you are video editing weekly, I would recommend a MacBook Pro. Since your budget isn't really the best, I would recommend the MacBook Air. There is also many computer tests do find what laptop meets your needs. If you did get a MacBook air, you could spend the rest of your budget on Final Cut Pro. If you want a more recommendation, you should go to a nearby Apple Store or Best Buy.

You are asking at the exact worst time to make such a decision.

Users report the new Apple-Silicon M1 Macs seem to be very nice, but only support one external display. The next ones, maybe 15/16-in display and maybe more external displays with Apple-silicon will be available ...

... when they are available ... and no one knows when that will be.

Even more than usual, computers will always be better, faster, and cheaper if you wait.

But sooner or later you have to get your work done, so you just hold your nose and vote. It will be fine.
