IOS 14.2 Phone Problems

Is anyone else having issues with phone calls specifically after downloading IOS 14.2?

I am having 2 specific problems.

#1-Some incoming calls are not showing any call notification.It’s like they never called unless they leave a voicemail.


#2-Once I am on a call every one drops after a few minutes and will even happen multiple times if the call is long.

My service is Verizon Wireless.Not sure if this is a IOS issue or Verizon issue?

Chatted with Verizon tech today. They had me shut down my phone and wait 2 minutes while they did a system reset. Didn’t work. Tested a call and it dropped in about 3 minutes. Next had me go to General, Reset, Reset Network Settings. After the phone restarts, had to re-enter WiFi password. It seems to have worked. I have steady 2-3 bars instead of wildly variable 1-4, and tested two calls over 5 minutes with no drops.

I have been reading your multiple post and others. This is an Apple software issue. Whether some believe it’s the update glitch or an hardware issue. It’s definitely a software issue , I believe Apple has implemented into this update to persuade you to buy a new phone. This happened to my fiancé a year ago before Christmas. She ended up buying a new phone because it would not take or receive calls. Bottom line is... Apple has already had a class action lawsuit on throttling speeds of older phones after updates. Keep posting your problems and DONT TRADE YOUR PHONE IN.

After a number of days, the problem of call dropping I started to have immediately after IOS 14.2 update seems to be solved.

I tried all actions proposed in this forum, including network setting reset, but none were effective.

I didn't do any further action nor received any further update from Apple.

So, I presume that something was fixed by my telco operator (Vodafone Italy). Most likely in IOS14.2 Apple changed some default settings in call handling and some tuning needed to be handled by telco operator.
