MS Office 365 takes tons of storage even after uninstalled.

Today I noticed there is around 50 GB of files under the "other" category of storage on my MacBook Pro 2017. I tried to reduce the amount of system trash without any success. So I downloaded DaisyDisk as well as OmniDiskSweep. Then I found out under Private> var>folders>hx>... there are 37 plus GB of files that are office 365 related and none of them can be deleted even though I have uninstalled office 365 a long time ago. Any tip to free up these space on this MacBook?

Hello ZhangGao2020,


Sounds like you need help clearing up some storage space on your Mac. Specifically you've determined that much of your "Other" storage is being consumed by remnants of Microsoft Office 365.


We'd suggest using the official uninstallation instructions directly from Microsoft for further help with removing some of the files you're having trouble with:
