How do I enable french accents on my new Macbook Air keyboard

Are you saying it does not work now for any app, including Mail, Safari, Notes, etc?

What exactly do you have on your list in system preferences > keyboard > input sources?

On Quebéc we use the "option" key then the vowel "é" etc.

No, it should work with either British or French. Try this

Open the Terminal app (Applications > Utilities) and type

defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool true

and then restart

I use French Canadien and Canadian english and can always type the vowels with that accent graf in both setting and in any program.

i don't have microsoft software tho
