After instaling new macOS on my MacBook Pro it continuously heats up to 75C while doing nothing. I resterted my mac couple times with no effect, and i checked if there is no any app running in background. Is anyone got same problem after that update?

After every major upgrade there are processes that occur in the background such as new indexes and databases for such things as Photos or Search. These take time and the system needs to be up and running to resolve it. Try setting system NOT to log out or shut down for a day or so and you should see improvement.

Trust, I have had the exact same problem - my Mac, which is a Mac Book Pro 13", has been non stop overheating since I've gotten this update. Weird. I don't understand why - & it is a 2017 model so not even that old??!! Please, if anyone has a resolution to this massive 1st world problem that would be amazing, because I can't even watch 10 minutes into my Queens Gambit series without my laptop sounding like an aeroplane is taking off...

May I also add that I do love the update, besides the hoover noise (thats just incase Apple is reading this but keep that to one's self).

I have this same issue with my 13 inch MacBook Air after the update of MacOS Big Sur. But not during the idle time, but during multitasking like 5 safari tabs, two VS code workspaces and three terminal windows. I've restarted the mac couple of times, but no use. So, the issue is in the software side. May be fixed in upcoming updates!

I second this. I have been having this issue for about 2-3 weeks now. This morning was update 11.1 which I thought may be dealing with the issue. Unfortunately it does not seem to be. I have been monitoring when my fans come on, what programs I am running and how long it takes for them to switch off. It's pretty ridiculous. Admittedly my machine is 2014, however, the amount of people with 2020 MacBook pro's reporting of this issue give no indication that it's a hardware error of the older machines and so not even a ploy by apple to make you upgrade to a newer model.

When I’m downloading movies for example on my MacBook Pro 16 or anything else, it starts to heat up abnormally, like wtf apple, I see that temperatures on my processor start to go up and down, as if the computer is making some computations, and it’s draining the battery super fast. It’s just downloading, there is no reason for it to heat up..

I have the same problem with my MacBook Air. It's been 3 days heating and its fans working hard continuously. It is problematic because I won't be able to work (I teach by Zoom) with this noise in the background. I'll try leaving it logged on until tomorrow, but last night it was really noisy and couldn't sleep well due to my computer's noise and my concern with its functioning...my computer is my main working tool.
