My wife installed BigSur on her Macbook today. now she can no longer select A4 paper on her HP LaserJet 1020, its stuck on US letter size.
Any ideas how to fix this?

I am guessing there isn't a ppd in /etc/cups/ppd. Deleting and re-adding the printer, if possible with the HP installation difficulties and if there is a driver available, should fix this. Copying the drivers from an earlier system should also work.

That worked! Thanks. I deleted the printer, then attempted to reinstall as an HP 1022 1.6.1; Mac insisted I delete two old files "fax.backend" and "rastertofax" before I could proceed. After that all ok.
