iCloud tabs not syncing/working

iCloud Tabs has stopped working on all of my devices

iCloud Tabs isn't working on any of my devices. I can't see them from my MacBook Pro (macOS Catalina), nor from my iPhone X (running 14.2). I have quadruple checked and iCloud is on and Safari is checked and everything is correct on each device. It was working fine up until I noticed the issued several days ago. I haven't changed any settings or behaviors or changed any features, but for whatever reason it isn't working anymore. And if it does, my computer shows iPhone tabs from the day before and not current tabs and my phone doesn't show my computer tabs at all anymore. Although it's small, it's a feature of iCloud that I use quite often and it's a nuisance to have it not working properly.

I followed all suggestions on forums and articles to turn off iCloud, turn off Safari, etc. on each device and turn it back on but still nothing. I've restarted and rebooted a plethora of times and it's still the same issue. Does anyone have any insights on what could be causing this issue and how to fix it?

Also having the same issue. Started happening when I got iphone 12. All software up to date. Tried turning safari on and off on icloud. Restarted everything. Please fix this vital feature!!

I did the same thing. Also having trouble with iCloud tabs.

I noticed the issue too when I purchased the iPhone 12 Pro. However, at the same time when I got this new phone, macOS was moving away from Catalina into Big Sur (I haven't upgraded to Big Sur yet). I don't know if this is a result of having a new phone or Big Sur.

I'm leaning towards this might have something to do with the mix of Big Sur and iCloud.

I have an iPad Pro which also isn't seeing iCloud tabs either from my phone or Mac.

Adding to the list here. It seems iPhone 12 new devices are the culprit and resetting network settings on older devices fixes the issue. As far as the environment I’m working with:

iphone 12 pro max 14.2.1, MacBook Pro 2018 on Sur 11.0.1, and iPad Pro 2020 on 14.2. I’ve setup my MacBook as new for Big Sur, along with my iPhone 12 pro max last week since it was such a huge update and I ran into multiple restore issues with iOS (finder and cloud backups). I’ve reset network settings and ever since I’ve been on Big Sur, the iCloud tabs as delayed and don’t even show up on my iPhone. Mac and iPad are about a day behind. Weird issue. Strange side note Google Chrome tabs sync fine, but I prefer safari on iOS any day over chrome’s mobile interface. Guessing this fix will come in the form of an update, probably on the OS side?

Bump. Had the same issue just today.

Using iMac 2019 27" w/ Big Sur and iPhone 12 mini w/ iOS 14.2.1.

Was working just fine earlier today, but after I unchecked the "iCloud Tabs" checkbox once on my iMac, it just disappeared completely(no any option and checkbox in Safari app) and not showing ever again.

Have tried toggling "Safari" option bar on/off in the iCloud tab on both my iMac and iPhone.

Also tried sign out/sign in my Apple ID and iCloud account on both devices.

Neither of above worked.

Hopefully, Apple would fix this soon :(

Same here BUT they were working with Big Sur (upgrade from Catalina) and new iPhone 12 until a few days ago. Had general iCloud and even Finder challenges and sent all of it to Apple Engineering. Right now I have no tabs in Safari Mac despite signing in/out of iCloud, turning off Safari iCloud sync (it takes 2 clicks now to get it to turn on). There must be some bug.

Same, same, as everyone else. Mines been non functional for almost two weeks now. My iPhone holds the majority of my “open tabs” (50+ open), and I usually pull them up later on my iPad or one of my iMacs (work or home). Until mid last week, about half of my iPhone tabs (the oldest ones) were available on my iMac, and no new tabs would show up. The iPad got zero. Now all my devices get no tab syncs.

Of course all devices are updated and I’ve tried all the recommended fixes:

iPad Pro 11”

iPhone 8

two 27” iMacs

Just to let people know - I too have the issue and spoke to an Apple Tech this morning after two Chats last night,

Like most of you I have toggled safari on and off, restarted devices, signed in and out of iCloud, tested in Safe mode - all to no avail. Like some, this morning I woke up and Tabs on my iPad were there, but out of date, from before I upgraded to Big Sur, but the moment I went to the MacBook and opened safari, they disappeared. Tabs on my iPhone are correctly showing pages I opened on my iPad - and no tabs whatsoever show up on my MacBook. The one thing I did discover through the chat is that if I open the history on my MacBook, tabs I have open on my phone and iPad ARE listed. (Photos and music are syncing and bookmarks are also syncing. However:

TL; DR - the tech told me after a lot of troubleshooting and doing a Screen Share that I/we are not alone, it is a known issue and they are working on a fix. He said to keep checking for updates. The one weird thing is that when he looked at my iCloud info, it was showing tabs from 2019 - but none that are active today. He said it's something to do with the way the new Safari is passing Tab info to iCloud. Weirdly it's all fine for my husband on the same network with an iMac, iPhone 11 Pro and iPad Air. I have an iPhone SE 2020, MacBook and iPad mini. I think all we can do is wait - I feel better knowing that they have acknowledged it's a problem.

I'm facing very similar issues using iCloud Tabs. But it's kind of weird on my side. Running a MacBookPro (Big Sur) and iPhone 7 (iOS14.2) iCloud Tabs do appear only within certain networks. At home is does not work at all. Neither creating a hot spot WLAN with my iPhone nor using my router's WLAN. In the office everything is fine both using Hotspot WLAN and using office WLAN. I have tested to create new Favorites in Safari. They do appear on all devices after some seconds in all configurations (Home WLAN, HotSpot, Office WLAN). So it seems to be an iCloud Tab issue only! iCloud Sync does work at least for favorites.

Any ideas?

Exact same problem, but this issue isn't limited to Mac OS on my 2019 MacBook Pro 13" 2-TB. Both my iPhone 11 Pro and iPad Air 4 (bought yesterday) have the same issue - neither can see currently open tabs on other devices. I've tried closing safari on all devices, disabling iCloud (deleting data on iPhone and iPad), doing a hard reboot on all three, re-enabling iCloud (first Mac, then iPad, then iPhone), then opening Safari, and still no luck. There's clearly a bug here on Apple's end.

All three devices on the very latest version of Mac OS (11.0.1) and iOS (14.3 with the new update where I can see privacy reports on App Store pages).

macbook Pro 15" mid 2015 with macOS 11.1, iPad Air 3 with iOS 14.3., iPhone Xs with iOS 14.3 same problem, no iCloud tabs at all. Under iCloud --> Safari disable on all devices, enable it again, doesn't help. please look a macrumors, problem seems to affect many users https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/icloud-tabs-not-syncing.2266397/page-21?post=29397217#post-29397217
