This thread has the issue quite well-documented https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250800317.
I view images by "cmd + a" to select all and then "option + blank" to view them in quick look slide mode.
Since Catalina, the images selected will be shown in reverse order for no reason.
I wonder if there is a better way for me to surface this issue to get fixed.

An easy and quick work around is to click on the Name header in the list view to reverse the alphanumerical sort order and view them that way. They'll be in the correct order.
