Excel File Corrupted by Big Sur?

I loaded the new MacOS, Big Sur 11.0.1 on to my MacBook this morning and I don't know if it is just a coincidence but one of my Excel files seems to have lost all the data from May 2020 onwards which is a real pain. Even the iCloud version of the file is the same. When I try and open it I get a dialogue box with the message:

"We found a problem with some content in ’NNN.xlsx’. Do you want us to try to recover as much as we can? If you trust the source of this workbook, click Yes."

(NNN is in place of the file name).

Any suggestions how I can recover my data, please? So far, other files (Excel and MS Word) that I have opened have been OK.

Thanks, Guys.

i have also just updated my laptop with big sur only to experience a royal wipe-out where my excel files are concerned. the formulas and other issues have been corrupted. a prior update with catalina also caused issued with excel. microsoft does need to be contacted because the conflicts have to do with excel. i have spent countless hours working with citrix to try and resolve things but the root (answer) does seem to lie somewhere with MS's support. excel struggles are real with subsequent mac system updates and it would be nice if microsoft was more pro-active in putting that information and fixes/patches out there for users.

contacting Microsoft support directly. I did that last night and got no solutions other than they were passing the info to their engineers. it's an apple issue and Microsoft is going to have to respond to some kind of help for users like you and I and many others that had everything affected. my laptop was new when purchased and continues to have issues so it's more of an overall apple quality control issue I'm afraid for me. the updates push us over the edge but their is not much recourse otherwise when you have gone beyond the product warranty time/extended service plan. I just wiped things clean and did a recovery using Mojave. wishing you good luck--if you can spare the time, definitely report it directly to Microsoft. every voice counts.
