How do I increase Big Sur system font size? I am finding the new menu bar font almost impossible to read.
A call to Apple support and a really simple configuration fix. Instead of focusing on preferences - accessibility - display ; go to preferences - displays - display and resolution. You can tick scaled and increase the resolution which really helps. You don't lose much at all in terms of sharpness - almost imperceptible, but you gain a lot in terms of system fonts. For those struggling with this... worth a try. Apparently I was not the only person whom she dealt with asking about the same issue. I am hoping Apple captures this systematically and we will soon see 11.01.00 release with more universally accessible system font sizes.
Regrettably I find no change in the menu bar adjustment. I am really struggling with the small type - I think this is an accessibility issue.
OK, I did what Old Toad told me and it worked, yeah! However....
now the font on the open 2 tabs morphed into the teeny weeny font.
I will be patient and wait for the Update...

I agree, even on a good monitor I find the new font is too thin and gives me head aches, something that did nt happen with OS10

I agree - I used that option but I could not see any visible changes.
Are you sure you executed it properly, it makes a big difference to system font size
I was using the option in the Accessibility options rather than screen resolution,

Yes, but the issue isn't the font in the columns, it's the font in the sidebar. The Show View Options doesn't affect the sidebar font size or contrast level.
Wow! Thank you! this is the solution! yet again hidden deep in system preferences. I can see my menu now without squinting and getting headaches.
