Tracfone will not support wifi calling on my SE phone.

Just wanted to add to an earlier post about Tracfone not supporting Wifi on my SE phone. I have to keep purchasing data and texts units. Told me even if I were to purchase an unlimited plan, it would not be considered unlimited because it is wifi calling. I live where there is no cell service. So wifi calling would be considered normal calling, but since it is wifi...it isn’t unlimited regular, normal calling. Wth...They gave me the run around for hours and hours. I don’t want to buy another, newer iPhone and have the same problem. They told me to go buy a T-mobile phone and maybe it would work..,why would i do that. I am so angry with Tracfone and it seems it happened after an update a while ago. You can see why I do not want to go to an expensive carrier when I haven’t any cell service where I live. Anyone have any suggestions? My husband passed away and I wanted to transfer his data and units onto my phone and they wouldn’t do it...said we had a Tracfone and a unlocked straight-talk phone. Same company. Same sim cards and they kept switching their story, each and every time. They couldn’t see they were talking in circles and contradicting themselves with every sentence with both issues. I was told iPhones even new updated models may not support wifi through Tracfone. Not one rep, but all. I am calling the BBB. I think they are making excuses to rake in money lost to wifi calling. Does anyone have any suggestions?

If you go looking for another carrier, you should be aware that most MVNOs (carriers that resell other carrier’s networks, such as TracFone) subcontract their network management and customer support to Tracfone. Examples of other MVNOs are StraightTalk, Boost and MetroPCS. The only nationwide independent carriers in the US are Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint. And soon T-Mobile and Sprint will be the same carrier. There are a few independent regional carriers (Cellular One, for example) that cover mostly rural areas and contract with the major carriers for coverage outside of their area. These are generally OK.
