I was trying to search on the Internet and a pop-up says that I have a virus and asking me to download an antiviral app from the App Store. Is this legit?

All such messages are scams, presented by criminals. Do not download any app based on such bogus advertising tactics.

No, it is a scam

Don't click on anything on that page, and don't install anything from it. (You probably couldn't anyway unless the phone is jailbroken)

Don't visit that site again. And be wary of similar searches.
