remove and change the soccer ball that shows in the upper left hand corner of your System Preference graphic

Open System Preference by clicking on the sprocket icon (system preference) on your tool bar.

System Preference graphic will pop up on top right of your screen.

Hover your mouse over the soccer ball until the word "edit" appears.

Click on the soccer ball with the word edit.

A menu to change the soccer ball appears.

The menu allows you to upload a photo, or you can choose a Mac photo in the "defaults" section.
