Love the cameras. But horrible lens flares.

One the right, above the window. Green flares from tube lights to the left.

I can't remember if I showed these two photos here in this thread or in another one on this topic.
Here's a picture I took with flare. I could easily see the flare on my iPhone 12 Pro Max screen before I took the photo, which you could have seen if you were holding my phone as well:
Is my phone defective? No, of course not.
Without moving my position at all, I moved the angle of the camera relative to the scene and took this photo seconds later. Notice anything different? The flares are gone.
In my case is obviously an hardware problem. The “ghost” lights of the boat are upside down and depending where I was shooting they were moving from left to right or the other way around.
By hardware I also mean lens displacement.
Totally misleading! Either this is fully edited or our devices are faulty and the faulty parts need to be replaced by . This is what I said in an another Facebook forum and argued badly about it!

True I had the 8 plus before I bought my 12 pro max, and I never had any of these green flares / dots on that one, so it has to be something with the way the lenses / glass is made and setup.
I actually love the pro max, and its extremely good camera.
Felt like returning it back.
But I just cannot ise the Android phones. They have tonnes of issues.
Will try some other scenarios. Its good I am not much into videos.
Those disks as you call them are there to protect the cameras. Those disks are sapphire. Remove them and you'll unleash issues you can't fathom. So many of you keep your cameras in your pockets. Grains of sand would damage the cameras very quickly.

Yes, a good photographer knows how to mitigate lens flare. But in no case should lens flare look like this or be this bad.

It was visible, you didn’t notice.
Flare doesn’t magically become visible only once the shutter button is tapped, it’s there the entire time the camera is active and in fact shows up in videos too.
I read people repeating themselves that good photographers know a work around. I agree if it involves blatant light sources or the sun. but come on, look at these. that's some serious ufo's originated by street lights.

Your “if you don’t like it, leave it” mentality is pathetic. We all like the iPhone here and just want to make it better. What’s your problem with that? You remind me of the legions of fanboys losing their minds when the first rMBP ghosting issues surfaced or the dropped calls on the iPhone 4.
Tomorrow I’ll send you two videos of the exact same location and time, one filmed with the 12PM and one filmed with a two year old android device. You’ll tell me which has acceptable flare.
