Snooze Calendar Notifications in Big Sur

How do you snooze calendar notifications more than the default 5 min?

In Catalina, you could long-press the Snooze button and get a choice as to how long the notification was snoozed. I tried it in Big Sur and I don't get the list.

No, the manual just says that if the notification has the Options button, click Options then click Snooze. There is no option to long-press Snooze to get different snooze durations. They used to have long-pressing Snooze to get different durations in the Calendar documentation for Big Sur, but they changed the documentation shortly after 11.1 was released. They have removed references to long-pressing which tells you that it isn't a bug; they actually removed the ability to get different snooze durations. Do NOT expect to see it come back with the next release. If you want to see that ability to come back, file Feedback with Apple as they do not check this forum. This forum is strictly user-to-user support. Here is where you can file Feedback: https://www.apple.com/feedback/calendar.html

When the notification appears on your screen, click it. It will then open up your calendar. If you scroll down to alerts there is a double hairpin on the right hand side of the box. If you click on up or down it lets you in to a more fine tuned option of when you wish to one reminded. Granted its not as responsive as what was there before when you could click on the notification itself.

I know, it's so simple and really messes up workfIow. IMHO, for reasons, they intentionally decided to take the feature out. It's a productivity hit and adds unnecessary stress to the workday. Not at all "Apple." Sadly, only hope is if they lose their reputation for good user experience and lose customers. Someone posted the feedback link. I sent mine in.

The limited 15 minute snooze has been an annoying feature of iOS for a long time. I have always wished that the previous snooze in MacOS would be copied to iOS.

Now, in their attempt to make the two systems similar, Apple has chosen to make the MacOS snooze the same as the limited iOS snooze.

A very poor decision. I hope they revert to the earlier version on both OSs

Hi Phil Mustang -- I agree with you, and everyone else in the thread, that the snooze function in Catalina was elegant, practical, and is terribly MISSED -- but, as a temporary (I hope) alternative, with an added double-click on a received notification (desktop) and a bit of calculation (work the time backward from the event time, instead of forward in relation to a snooze span), we can set the time for a new notification and therefore achieve the "snooze" functionality we need. Convoluted, I know. Special attention must be given to "repeat" events though, because any edits will be reflected in future events, too. In this case, I think it's better to create a second alert for editing purposes only, until Apple brings back the old "snooze" function. This is frustrating to say the least.

Hey everyone. I contacted support bc this issue is ruining my productivity at work. So use to working on my task list then having my notifications on the side, then if an issue pops-up being able to snooze that notification for a customized amount of time so it will re-remind me later so I can focus on an issue that popped up. Can't do that now, notifications either pop up and clutter the screen or the only option is turning it off completely which negates the whole point of having calendar notifications. ANYWAY sorry for the long personal anecdote.

Support said to provide feedback and the more people that provide feedback on this issue it will be addressed. Please provide feedback instead of coming here so we can get this feature back pronto! https://www.apple.com/feedback/calendar.html

Apple needs to listen to all of us and know that for every one of us complaining, there are 100 more who feel the same way. It is absolutely ridiculous that you can no longer designate the snooze time.

If you want Apple to listen to you, then you need to use the feedback links. Apple doesn't read these forums for suggestions. The feedback links have been given repeatedly in this thread, including in the post immediately above yours.

It appears that Apple, in all it's super-intelligence, cannot figure out what we the users want and need. That option is not available, apparently. Only their short reminder alert is available. It doesn't matter what the customer needs.

It appears that you think everyone needs the same thing you do and that Apple shouldn't consider any others.

To be fair Idris we are now on page 25 of users unhappy about an existing feature (customisable snooze time) being removed. It's not a "new product" request that's needed, it's the reinstatement of a well-loved and much-missed feature. As has been said many times, this is the wrong forum as Apple needs complaints submitted via https://www.apple.com/feedback/calendar.html
