iPhone 12 Pro Max - Instagram Stories Blurry?

This is not a user-fixable issue. This is an issue with IG compatibility with the new iPhone’s resolution. Until IG is updated with code extending to this new resolution, the images will continue to not scale properly, and due to this, appear blurry.

Oh, this looks like the usual Instagram story compression to me.

Probably not what you want to hear but I don't see anything odd here.

The difference between these is that you’ve added a gif to the pic that seems blurry. So in reality the photo resolution is impaired since you’re adding a sticker on it.

so the other day I posted an IG story and it looked really blurry on my phone, but I looked at it on my brothers iPhone XR and it was perfectly clear. and on my friend's android as well... sooo idk if it just shows up blurry on our 12's but is clear for other phones 🤷🏻‍♀️ hoping thats the case. it's a super expensive phone to be having blurry IG stories lol.

I'm having the same issue when I take a picture on my iPhone 12 Pro Max and then upload it to instagram I wonder if there are any toggles we can change under camera settings to fix this for now until Instagram patches it, the same way I've heard of a workaround for videos by disabling smart HDR

Has anybody figured it out the issue? I think we are all having the same problem with pictures/ audio and screen size. The top of the image extends too far into the top of my phone. Same with the sides, if a text is too long it cuts off. I believe this issue is only on the 12 Pro - MAX -. My husband has the 12 PRO and it's fine on his.

Also having this issue. It’s weird because some photos do show up in crisp resolution while others do not. I’m an illustrator and the quality of my images matter a lot. I believe this is an issue that IG needs to resolve, in terms of supporting the new resolution.

It’s so annoying like in my iPhone 11 Pro Max everything looked good and now iPhone 12 Pro Max quality in my gallery all good but once I upload to Instagram they literally loose all the quality looks all blurry like such an expensive phone to be experiencing quality issues lol even tho I am pretty sure is an Instagram issue it’s quite frustrating since for me quality in your videos and pictures are really important

this is happening to me too!!! I dont understand why and its frustrating me. I had the XS Max before this and when I repost stories on there, they're a lot clearer just like the original photo/post. if someone has the solution please let us know.

I also have issues with IG stories, I place a video and the audio is going crazy, really low and only high notes, a few seconds it’s Ok and then nothing everything goes bad with sound. Tried everything, reinstalling, updating, nothing seems to work

I’m having issues when I post a picture it does not allow me to tag people on IG. I came to the 12 Pro from the X and didn’t have any issues on the X. During the brief overlap when I still had both phones I would have to post on the 12 Pro and go back in on the X to make my tags

Omg I noticed this too! I have 5 accounts on my ig, and I noticed that on one of my accounts everything is super clear & HD! And on the other 4 they’re super blurry :( I have no clue how one of my accounts it’s HD & on the others it’s blurry...Here’s proof! Both are screenshots
